Students who earn an undergraduate degree in accounting from another college or university, or who receive a bachelor's degree in an area other than accounting, can obtain professional training in accounting by directly entering our Master of Accountancy (M.Ac.) Program. We tailor the M.Ac. program of study to meet the individual's needs in light of his or her background. For those students who enter with an undergraduate degree in accounting, the program is designed to be completed within one calendar year. Students with an undergraduate degree in another area of business typically are required to take 45-51 s.h. Those with degrees outside of business typically are required to take 57-60 s.h. Courses taken during M.Ac. candidacy build upon the technical skills acquired in an undergraduate accounting program or in accounting courses taken as prerequisites or upon first entering the M.Ac. program. They broaden the student's perspective on the role of accounting in organizations and decision making, and further develop his or her written and oral communication skills.
